I went through a military training and had my hair cut very short last year. After eight months, it grew fast and reached beyond my shoulders (TIP: Washing your hair twice a day can really make it grow fast). It grew fast but it is stiff as tree branches. Even conditioners and argan oils can't do any miracle. I decided to try having a hair rebond but it costs around P3,000 to P10,000. I won't shell out that much money just for my hair! I searched through metrodeal for days and weeks. I can't decide which one to try. I am afraid that since I will be using a voucher, the service will be blah or worse. I experienced that before. I dunno what has gotten into me that I purchased and availed a hair rebond service that is only for 500 php. I know I am only getting what I paid for. My hair looked like a straight broom stick. I think it got chemically burned that's why it rubberized. Oh well, lesson learned. There are lots of known salons that offer vouchers and hair rebond for half the price. I originally wanted to try unica hija salon's volume rebond ( volume rebond gives you a straight hair but with oomph. It gives that nice shape and bounce. I would definitely try that someday, maybe next year.), but I can't find any reviews about it so I hesitated. I really need reviews first to consider a salon. I accidentally got into femalenetwork forum about hair rebond and they mentioned the friendly staff and good service of Queen's Lair Salon. I am actually hesitated as the salon's name sounds very new to me. In my mind, new salon means inexperienced staff. Yet reviews are so powerful to me and I actually believed the salon is good. So there, I purchased the voucher and contacted them to schedule my "paguunat ng buhok". Here are the terms of the voucher and it is a must to read them to prevent further disappointments.
The deal is really a money-saver. Just think of the additional services you can get such as the haircut, hotoil and pedicure. I chose to have my hair done at Metrowalk and had it scheduled on a holiday morning. Since I am availing the service through a voucher, I went there very early for 2 reasons; first, there might be a long line of people trying to avail the service and second, the staff can perform well in the morning since they are not yet exhausted. It is true that the staffs are very friendly. They even crack jokes at you, listen to your stories and they are always smiling. You wouldn't feel a hint of discrimination even if you are only using a voucher. First, they checked my voucher, then they did a strand test. They suggested that it will be better if I avail their brazilian blowout first to condition my hair then after a month I can go back to have a hair rebond. They said the strand test shows that there's a big chance my hair will get rubberized. I thought about for a while and bravely continued with the hair rebond. I just don't like brazilian blowout. They politely complied and suggested to add a treatment to diminish any further damage.
It is already 10:30am. They started putting the rebonding cream. After an hour they washed my hair, blow-dried it and then they started with the ironing. I had my pedicure done while the guy is ironing my hair. By the way, the one doing it is their new employee. I find it uncomfortable at first, but then I learned he is from Index salon before. Index Salon at Starmall is the best hair rebond I had so far. The new guy is very kind. He even ate his lunch late because he finished ironing my hair first. He even ate his lunch fast and that is only for 15 minutes. When he came back, he put the neutralizer on my hair. After an hour they washed my hair again. Then, they put some conditioner which afterwards, I discovered to be the keratin pro treatment. That one already costs an additional 800 php. I know, I know, they put it in just like a conditioner, then washed it away and poof! there goes my 800 pesos. After that, they blow-dried my hair and told me it is finished. I gave the tips to the new guy and his assistant and off I went home.
Here is the result after the first wash:
I am actually impressed with the result of hair rebond. It did not rubberized, it is soft, and not super straight. It still has a body, bounce and curve. It is just perfect.
Queen's Lair Salon delivers good result but I still got a couple of issues. First, when they applied the keratin treatment, they should have at least let it stayed in my hair for a while to let my hair absorb it's nutrients. They just put it in and washed it right away. I just feel I have thrown away my 800 php. In some salons, they even put a heating cap and let it stayed for an hour. They must be in a hurry to finish the process. Second, it took me 6 hours staying in the salon not because of the process itself but because I waited for too long since there are a lot of customers they would need to assist. Well, that one is forgivable, I just have to eat lunch at 4pm. Third, I accidentally stripped the nail polish on one of my nails, the new guy saw it but didn't even offered to reapply the nail polish. I just let it go. And lastly, they didn'f offer the haircut. That is included in the package. I would want to have it done but after telling me it is finished, they went off. Since, everybody in there is busy, I can't ask someone to cut my hair. There I go, I just paid for the keratin treatment and went home. I can't stand another hour in there anyway as I am very hungry.
They deliver good results but not a really good experience. Well, I still consider myself lucky. If you will ask me if I would still come back, then my answer is Maybe. Well, no matter how bad my experience is, the result of heir hair rebond is still good.
